The classic Burberry check is composed of red, camel (also know as the Nova), black and white regarding to the color of the yarns.
The red and camel is a set of analogous colors that is using two or more adjacent hues on a color wheel plus variation of value and intensity. It maintains the fluidity of monochromatic matching with more variety and energy.
Black and white are achromatic colors, in this case they are used to create values (tints and shades) for the red and camel through the weaving structure.
The weaving structure of check fabric created more color varieties (intensities and values) in this four color based design where the warp and weft lines of colors meet each other. For example, the meeting point of the red lines creates a higher intensity of red while the achromatic colors create different tints and shades of red and camel; such varieties in intensity and values in turns create an analogous scheme.
Thus, the Burberry check with only four basic colors but still get a fluid and dynamic color scheme.

Just employ the analogous color theory, choose three to four colors within, combined with the property of the signature weaving checks structure, one can easily create sets of Burberry checks.
This could also apply to the famous Scottish checks; or use other color theories, like the split complementary, to create a crazy combo of color check.
Varieties of the Burberry checks, even for non woven scarfs, they still preserve the weaving apperance of checks, for the above reason
